Approximately 16,000 cubic yards of accumulated soft sediment, silt and natural clay were hydraulically dredged from the river and marina to increase the navigable depth by four feet. Geotextile tubes used to dewater the dredged sediment were staged in two municipal parking lots along the river. The active dredging phase of the project took place in … [Read more...]
IAI provides hydraulic dredging services for lagoons, impoundments, ponds, rivers and lakes. IAI has self-performed environmental and maintenance dredging projects, with or without dredged material dewatering and water treatment services. See examples of our project work here.
IAI dredged 180,000 cubic yards of in-situ material from Conner Creek to create capacity for a new combined sewage overflow treatment facility. The project involved the removal of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments utilizing an 8 inch diameter swinging ladder dredge and an 8 inch diameter auger dredge. A specially designed header … [Read more...]
A municipal wastewater storage lagoon was filled with sludge that needed to be removed and disposed of. IAI used a PTO-driven 6” Houle pump to remove the sludge from the lagoon and transfer it to a mix tank. The sludge slurry was pumped from the mix tank, dosed with polymer and transferred to a trailer-mounted belt filter press for dewatering. The dewatered … [Read more...]
This project was completed for the purpose of removing highly PCB-contaminated sediment from the walls and floors of a raceway system located in a former industrial property in Lawrence, MA. IAI utilized a specially equipped electrically powered hydraulic dredge to remove the contaminated sediment from the sub-surface and external raceways, dewatered the … [Read more...]
IAI was contracted to remove and dewater 13,500 cubic yards of accumulated sludge from three wastewater treatment lagoons at a manufacturing facility in Quincy, Michigan. The sludge was hydraulically dredged using an 8 inch diameter auger head dredge and dewatered using mobile (trailer-mounted) belt filter presses. After dewatering, the sludge was loaded … [Read more...]
