Environmental dredging projects, or those performed for the purpose of removing harmful or potentially harmful contaminants from the natural environment, are core to IAI's business. IAI has participated in these projects as Subcontractor, processing up to 2.2 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment for a single project, and has also self-performed all aspects of a sediment cleanup, from dredging to dewatering, water treatment and capping.
IAI was contracted to remediate two ponds at the site of this former wood-treating facility. The ponds contained a layer of thick, black oily sludge, contaminated with creosote, polyaromatic hydrocarbons and metals, which had to be removed.
