IAI has a full-time position opening for an Operations Specialist in the Grayling/Houghton Lake area of Northern Michigan. This is a newly created position, and for the successful candidate, will lead to a managing their own project.
Duties will include but are not limited to: sample collection and laboratory analysis, control of chemical, biological and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance, tending and maintaining process equipment, maintaining records and reporting, and general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which includes working overtime, holidays and weekends, and being on-call 24 hours a day for emergencies on a rotating basis.
The qualified candidate will possess a current Michigan S4 and D4 drinking water license, and a L2 wastewater license. Must have a mechanical aptitude and able to work in a physically demanding job that requires both indoor and outdoor work. The selected candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and after hire, live within reasonable driving distance of the Grayling/Houghton Lake area. Must be able to commute to Cadillac, Michigan in order to complete an initial training period for approximately 6-9 months.
