IAI’s Engineering, Mechanical Services, and Contract Operations Divisions are working together to permit, install, and soon, operate a 30,000-gpd membrane bio reactor (MBR) for a privately-owned campground in West Michigan.
IAI provides contract operations, maintenance and management services for the City of Menominee, Michigan’s water and wastewater utilities, and has since 2001. IAI’s team of nine environmental professionals operates the utilities that serve the residents of Menominee each day.
IAI was contracted to install geotextile tubes, in a tight alignment, to form an L-shaped wall. The geotextile tube wall contained dredged coal ash, which was pumped into the tubes at a rate of 1,500 GPM. The tubes were stacked in a 3-2 geometry, reaching a finished height of 11 FT, and length of 1,900 FT.
IAI provided design-build-operate geotextile tube dewatering and water treatment services for this Remedial Action project. TSCA and Non-TSCA regulated sediments were processed separately in the same dewatering facility, at a flow rate of 3,000 gpm. The water treatment facility met the non-detect PCBs discharge limit throughout the project.
IAI self-performed all portions of the Portage Canal Segment 1 environmental dredging project, from hydraulic dredging, to geotextile tube dewatering, water treatment and placement of a sand cap, utilizing specialized equipment, some custom-made for this project.
